Starting to work out again 6/29

Wrll, I will be starting to workout again on 6/29. My ribs have healed enough to allow me to do so. I will do bodyweight first workout, although an easy one. I'll ride the exercise bike for second workout, then, I'm gonna walk for the third workout. I'm gonna do this 3 days a week. As time goes by and my ribs have completely healed, I will up the intensity. In a month, I'm gonna start adding some running in with my walking. I plan to run for 3 minutes solid and then walk for 1 minute as many times as possible and when I can't run for 3 minutes at a time anymore, then I'll just continue walking until my 12 rounds are up, which will be 48 minutes total. This, along with the low carb diet will melt the fat away quick. I can't wait to be able to start back on the heavy bag.

Re: Starting to work out again 6/29

well, monday, i started back and did in like 25 minutes, 50 squats, 15 push ups, 8 sit ups, 15 4 count flutter kicks and scissors combined with some bicycles and 15 4 count jumping jacks. then, monday evening, i ran/walked 1 mile in like 22 minutes. my ribs are not giving me probs now. i still feel them somewhat, but i was able to lift sandbags and mulch bags without any ill effects wednesday after my workout, which i did 60 squats, 15 push ups, 15 situps, 15 4 count flutter kicks, 15 4 count scissors, 10 4 count bicycles, and 25 4 count jumping jacks in 20 minutes, combined with 2 sets of lat pulldowns. then, wednesday evening, i walked/ran 1 mile in 20 minutes. thursday night, i walked/ran 1 1/2 miles in like 22 minutes. i am getting ready to go out and walk tonight for 2 miles. i'm gonna do my bodyweight tomorrow morning, along with my walk/run tomorrow night. but tonight, only walking. i've lost another half inch from my waist. i'm gonna start next week going to the gym on tuesdays and thursdays and doing a morning cardio workout on the exercise bike and stair stepper.
in 3 months, which will be the ends of september, i want to be able to run an 8 minute mile and maybe a 12 minute half mile. i'm not sure about that, though. i just want to go the mile and then work my way down to a 6 minute mile, then, do sprints, then finish off with animal movements for a quick 30 minute hard cardio session. i'm really progressing so far on the running end, as i run like 5 different intervals. i will run 6 tomorrow. i will run 6 1 minute intervals during my walk/run session tomorrow evening.

Re: Starting to work out again 6/29

well, i just finished my walking. i walked close to a mile in like 16 minutes and kept my pulse rate up to like 160 the whole time, which is what i wanted. tomrrow is the day i walk/run. i'm gonna do some dt and other bodyweight tomorrow afternoon and then tomorrow night, i'm gonna do my walk/run. i'm gonna do a mile and half. i'm gonna work on getting that down by 1 minute weekly, which will put me at like 11 minutes after 12 weeks. i can do it. if i can get a mile and a half in 12 minutes, then i will be reasonably fit. hey, i'm still at around 285, so i got a lot of weight to pack around, lol! i'll be around 250 by the end of 12 weeks. that is my goal, anyways, maybe even lighter if i can swing it. i'm on my way, though. i'm gonna start next week on tues and thurs going to the gym in the mornings and doing an intense exercise bike/stair stepper session, then walk/run in evening. that is gonna help put me at an 11 minute mile and a half by the end of september. this sure has helped my self esteem and confidence.

Re: Starting to work out again 6/29

well, i worked out this afternoon outside in the sun. i did 75 squats, 20 pushups, 5 of which were atlas dips, 25 4 count jumping jacks, 15 russian sit ups(didn't have anything to anchor my feet under), 15 4 count flutter kicks and the same amount of hello dolly's(scissors). i also did 3 sets of bear crawls. iw as going to run/walk later, but i decided to give it a rest and start back monday. i'm only gonna run 3 days a week. i'm just too heavy right now to run 5 days weekly, plus, my joints aren't as strong as they used to be. i'm gonna try to cut my time by 1 minute in the 1 1/2 mile every week and by week twelve, i hope to be at 9 minutes, although i think that 12 minutes is a more likely scenario, which i'll still settle for, but my goal is 1 1/2 miles in 9 minutes at the end of september. i'm also hoping to be able to get 500 squats in 15 minutes by the end of september as well. i'm still gonna do some intense exercise bike/stair stepper on tues and thurs and do some double time marching those evenings to keep the conditioning going. i'm thinking of beginning with a 3 mile march next tuesday night and steadily increasing to 5 miles over the next few weeks. this will help my conditioning for the runs. i'll be double time marching monday-friday and running on mon, wed, fri and intense exercise bike/stair stepper tues and thurs, along with the dt and other bodyweight exercises on mon, wed, and fri. i'm thinking about also getting my mats out and doing some floor work with the heavy bag. i'm gonna try some wood chopping week after next along with some sledgehammer as well. if that goes good, i'm gonna break down and get a cross cut saw and start on the hickory trees out back!
