Marlon Birch
"I've been helping my wife and her friend with a bodybuilding contest that they are doing together next week. However I promise to do it tomorrow and will have loads of questions for you for sure.
Let me say that the more I do the exercises the more I think about them and yet to see what I can do to make the exercises harder or to make further improvements!
I'm not into weight training have nothing against it personally. Trained many clients both ways and they received great results from the two forms of exercise.. For me self resistance exercises are unique and what I've always liked is that it can be done anytime. I can remember telling my buddies at 15 years of age that they don't need weights... And their reply was ... You can train at home all you want you'll only get smaller not bigger!! Well I never did listen for my biceps and forearms were bigger than theirs! Also the first time I actually went into the gym with them.. It was to see what I could lift.. 90 pound shoulder press for over 10 reps.. 90 pound bar for curls 20 reps and leg extensions with 100 pounds all at 16 years old. So after that I've really had no need to lift weights for I was stronger than them and had larger arms than they did so I taught to myself if I'm stronger than they are why even bother!!
In fact those guys aren't even training anymore and I'm the only one out of them all that do.. Do some exercise and keep it up! They all laughed at the dynamic tension exercises that I did at that time. And often said that it won't work or I've got good genetics or it only works for me!
I met a man that wanted me to workout with him in 2004 I told him what exercises I did and that I wrote a book on it and he did ask me a number of questions.. One was what do you do for traps? I showed him the neck exercises and he turned to me and said you have a gift! Not sure if he believed me yes or no.. Or just taught I had good genetics or something!
Anyway, I believe that dynamic tension can build real muscle and strength on any man.
However, I do think that one can Max out at 175 to 180 or so pounds with a 16 to 18 inch bicep and a 50 inch chest. Personally I gained a 17 plus inch neck, 18 plus biceps, 50 plus inch chest and a 16 plus inch forearm all with dynamic tension exercises. No weights at all!
A lot of people back then taught I lifted weights at the time and my grandmother would say to them he's always exercising in the back yard! She looked at me for years and saw the changes. I remember my cousins looking at me doing the exercises and asking questions on how to get their arms larger?
My brother took to the exercises due to motivation and he far succeeded myself in terms of development. I started asking him questions.
In terms of the exercises
I've done them a million different ways to resisting up only to down only to both ways...7 days a week....5 days a week....everyother day...and every every second day to 2 and 3 times a day! My results varied a great deal.. Full body workouts to split routines to cutting the body in half doing one group in the morning and the other at night.
All depends on the intensity though....more later"
the above was sent to me by marlon. he stands 5'6". what he's basically saying here is that it's possible to get built like the farnese hercules using just dt. as he's done it. of course if one has the genetics for it.
