Re: America's Greatest Generals/Admirals

well, cheney has a daughter that is a lesbian. he's always been for states controlling gay marriage and was never in favor of a constitutional amendment. i'm also that way. let the people in the states get off of their butts and get to the ballots and tell society how they feel. cheney is a tru reagan conservative. you see what a phony bush was in the way he bludgeoned our economy to death and went into iraq with a clinton military, not even using half of what we did the first time.

Re: America's Greatest Generals/Admirals

A Clinton military. that's one of the things that had me worried about the whole thing. i think we made the wrong decision in downsizing Reagan's military. 16 active combat divisions aren't enough, if you ask me. that's one of the reasons we're where we're at now. my talk about invading all our enemies is just saber rattling, i hope you understand i don't really mean it. but i do think we need to beef up our military. a larger military would take much of the strain off of military families. i follow Reagan's axiom of Peace through strength. we downsized our military in the '20s, '30's post ww2 '40s, bush 1, clinton, and bush 2, and war followed each time. and b.o. wants to downsize it some more. the stimulus money he threw away would have had more benefit to the economy had it all been spent on the military. history shows that military spending, within reason, is good for the economy

i'm for the states handling the matter of same sex marriage. the problem with that lies in the full faith and credit clause of the Constitution, which i am afraid the supreme court will eventually use to force states that don't allow same sex marriages to recognize those performed in states where they are allowed. the same clause allows the congress to make exemptions, which they have done with the defense of marriage act, but i don't trust the supreme court. activist judges are as much a threat to America as b.o. and a liberal congress is.

oh, i figured you was just talking about it. i do the same thing. well, don't hold your breath on a military increase anytime soon. military spending creates jobs, and high paying one's also and the majority of jobs are american.
i'm with you on the states and the supreme court overturning the voter's choice. if that happens, then there needs to be a constitutional amendment to protect the people's choice. hey, this is a democracy, and the majority wins. that's what a democracy is susposed to be all about. i think that deep down, cheney doesn't like gay marriage, but since his daughter is a lesbian, he really has no choice. i think that's more lynn cheney talking than anything.

i won't be holding my breath for this govt. to do anything right. they're screwing this country, and they're doing it on purpose. cheny's just trying to ensure peaceful family get togethers with his pro gay marriage talk. and maybe he doesn't like sleeping on the coach. and then there's that other thing. he doesn't want to miss out on that.

the scary aspect of majority rule in a democracy is that it can vote itself out of existence, and i can't help but think that this one has done just that.
