Re: Charles Atlas Video Biography

his nearness to the ocean, love of beaches, plus the fact his partner and son were in the navy, and his love of astronomy, makes me think he'd be a navy man.

when i was growing up, i was programmed to think that the only people who wore tattoos were circus people, carnival people, and sailors, the rest were people who got them while drunk. everyone who had one regretted it. tattooed females were found only in carnival side show freak exhibitions. it was a scandal to get one. it was a mark of loose morals and stupidity. and now today... my programming hasn't been erased, but i must be careful to not judge others. I don't care for tattoos on anyone. i especially despise them on females. i can tolerate the practice in men provided they stick to one or two simple ones. there's a guy that comes into the store whose entire body is tattooed up to, but not including his head. what's with today's generation that makes them want to look like freaks? you have the freakazoid bbers, and all these tattooed weirdos.

it does seem bizarre that more and more women are getting them. i guess they are taking after men in this regard just as women took after men in the area of steroids. i suppose some women would call this "equality" but i suspect a great majority more would call it madness.

i think i read some place that only 1/3 of Americans have a tattoo. but around here it seems like 2/3 do. it's really freaky to see women in their 60s and 70s sporting tattoos.

I really don,t like to see tatoos on women either, especially on wrinkled skin.

must be my age or something.

i can bat my eye at atlas' tattoo because he was at one time of that crowd of people we expected to have a tattoo. and it's just one tattoo on the inside of his right forearm, which you really have to be looking for to find it. and it's a simple one. it looks like a dagger to me.

Women with tattoos and piercings are too much for me. Originally they were getting these little butterfly tattoos on their ankles. OK, that wasn't too bad. But now they have huge ones on their arms and backs. it really is strange. At least with the piercings when you get tired of them & remove them all you have is a tiny, barely noticable, scar. You are stuck with a tattoo for life.
