Mike Brown calls the 6 meal thing worthless. Reeves did 3 meals.

i like their take on it. i'm a 3 meal a day guy myself. 4 at the most, and that only if it's been a long day, or one of my meals were cut short.

I always do 3 too. The idea of eating more to stoke your metabolism seemed questionable. Mike Brown explains why better. Reeves mother was a nutritionist and they were all 3 meals a day. He learned a lot from her.

Re: 3 Meals a Day or 6?

well, i eat at the most, 4 meals a day. that is plenty, especially if you eat the right kinds of proteins. plus, when you dump more food into your stomach before the other food has had a chance to digest, you only create more problems for yourself. now, skipping breakfast will slow down your metabolism, which is why it's so important to eat a hearty breakfast and make it the biggest meal, other than a post workout meal. mike brown advised against it and even named the bodybuilder who started the craze. i have never been able to eat that many meals every day. beef takes up to 8 hours to digest completely, more if you have some fiber with it. fiber slows digestion time down. pork is the hardest food to digest and takes about 5-7 hours. but, beef takes the longest, although it isn't as hard on you as pork is. mauro dipasquale, who is a world champion powerlifter and does the anabolic diet, metabolic diet, etc. and is a low carb advocate, in losing rapid fat, he suggests very low calorie/carb 3 meals a day and he has coached hundreds of thousands of regular and world class athletes alike.

The main thing about eating is really chewing the food good. It's easier on the digetive track. You get more nutients. Take it easy on the beef & pork. More chicken, turkey, and fish. I don't believe in being a vegan. You aren't getting proteins and other nutrients you need from meat. God gave us incisors for a reason.

Re: 3 Meals a Day or 6?

you got it, rpr. proper chewing is the most important thing. the more liquified your food is, the more easily it is digested and the more you assimilate. digestive enzymes are also helpful to take as well. i use them with my meals. natural grasfed beef without hormones and pesticides is the best food you can eat, but the commercially raised beef, i agree to take it easy on it, especially as you get older. i quit eating pork, just out of respect for GOD'S laws. pork was forbidden in leviticus ch. 11 in the dietary laws, along with shellfish and the like because of a scientific reason. it is the hardest meat to digest, plus, it has trichnis(sp)worm in it which goes straight to your heart and cannot be cooked out of it, unless you totally char the meat, which then makes it inedible because of the toxins that releases. shellfish and any other fish without scales are scavengers that cleans the water of the toxins, and are toxin ladened. that diet was scientific, not as something to oppress, but to keep us healthy. every animal on the unclean list is unhealthy for one reason or another to eat, so that is why certain animals were labeled unclean to eat. sorry about the religious rambling and all. i didn't mean to go into a sermon or anything. well, you get zero b-12 from vegetables. that only comes from meat and dairy products. you cannot get complete proteins from veggies either, unless you combine them. certain animals were put here for our consumption. certain plants are inedible as well and are unclean for us to eat, because of health reasons. if you notice vegetarians that eat a lot of grains, they aren't healthy looking people. look at india, they are mostly vegetarian because of religious beliefs and they are not healthy people.
