Country

I am not a country music fan, but listened to John Denver this afternoon. Then Johnny Cash. Then Dwight Yaokam. I guess there is some country in here.

Re: Country

John Denver and Cash were kind of a blend of country and folk. Yokum is more country.

Imagine how many records the three sold collectively.

Re: Country

i'm only a fan of good music, and i find there is some country music that is good. i don't cater to any particular style, just so long as the song is a good one.

I saw Dwight Yoakum in Idaho Falls some years ago. A memorable evening!

It was 1974 and I saw Kris Kristofferson in concert in San Diego. Rita Cooledge was still with him. That was pretty cool.

It was right after the invasion of Iraq (2002/2003). He stopped for a moment and asked the audience to keep their thoughts with the men serving "over there". Some lady shouted (about three rows behind me...) "Don't forget about the women!" and he stopped and said, "Of course...."

Well, I do not think he was being sexist, but she interrupted him, and he seemed a bit put off. But, the audience jumped on her verbally like pack dogs. A few minutes later she got up and left, to a chorus of cheers.

I guess she should have been a bit more thoughtful.
