Marcos Jaramillo, eighty-five years young, walked from Santa Fe to the San Fernando Valley, California, carrying a 60-pound pack on his back.

Charles Durborow, the Philadelphia long distance swimmer swam 604 miles during the 1914 season.

John Saimaini, called "Daddy Simmons," timber cruiser of Humboldt, California, and 90 years old, recently walked 100 miles across the mountains, at 20 miles a day, to see a railroad train for the first time in his life. Wanted to see an "iron horse" before he died.

Jack Williams is crossing the country from New York to San Francisco on roller skates.

The father of 29 children, George W. Fields, of Grove, Okla, died at the age of 78.

Michael Colombo defeated Charles Brown of Brooklyn, in an eating contest, score: Colombo, turkey 12 1/2 pounds; cranberry sauce, 2 portions; green peppers, 6; boiled potatoes, 5; tomatoes, 6; bread, one loaf; Italian wine, 2 bottles. Brown, quit at nine pounds of turkey.

W.W. Hemingway, of Binghampton, NY, ninety years old, celebrated his birthday by rising at five o'clock and walking fifteen miles before breakfast in a raging storm. Always walks as much as eight, and sometimes twenty miles daily, fooling the doctors who fourteen years ago said he could not live a year.
