Re: The Good Old Days

Tom Brokaw called the WWII generation the greatest generation. And, without a dount, I would agree with him. But the 30's gave us the continuation of "The Lost Generation" of Stein and Hemingway, and millions of vets (men and women from multiple countires), who I think were still "shell shocked" from the brutality anf sure uselessness of WWI. And then, in their 30's and 40's the Depression socked them.

The period from 1875 through 1905 gave the world flight, the automobile, skyscrapers, the telephone, x-ray technology and so much more. So many things we take for granted today had their beginnings during that time period. Several fine generations followed one another and got a boost from the previous generation.
