P.E. in Public Schools
i don't know what p.e. is like in the schools today, nor what it was like in other schools around the country when i was going to school. this post is based on my own experience.
i always thought it strange that they'd make us do calisthenics no more frequently than once or twice every six weeks, turn us loose with basketballs or some other ball, play softball or football the rest of the time, and then test our physical abilities once per semester and expected us to make improvements. i never made improvements until i started exercising in my own time at home. people gripe about p.e. being dropped from the schools, but if it isn't taught right, it might as well be dropped.
