Possible Life Changing Event
So,
Tuesday I get a call at work. My pop had a double stroke. The first one left his left side partially paralyzed, they gave him "the shot", he gained movement back almost immediately. then a couple of hours later he had a second one that slurred his speech and seems to have affected, currently, his short term memory.
I talked with him via the phone last night. He must be feeling better, because right in the middle of our conversation, as he stuttered his way through my brother (I could hear through the receiver) told him to "spit it out". without missing a beat, my dad told him to eff off. Then went back to stuttering.
This could obviously have ramifications about not just his overall health, but what I (and all of us...) do or do not have planned for the future. My brother has an autistic boy (real autism, not that "spectrum" stuff...), my sister is an alcoholic. So, who knows, I may be packing up, selling my home, and returning to the Golden State if I need to help out. They live on 4 acres, my mother cannot do the work around there to keep it up. You guys know, you have all been through it.

Re: Possible Life Changing Event
I am sorry this happened to your pop Jon. It does effect the entire family when something like this happens. A person simply has to do what is necessary and that can change ones life completely. We will pray for your entire family.

I feel for your family's situation. I've gone through it too and I know how difficult it is. I pray that the Lord gives you all patience and strength.

Re: Possible Life Changing Event
He is home and doing better. Still rambles in speech, and gets confused. His left side is back to near per-stroke mobility and function.
Both carodit arteries are closed, but the doctor said no surgery, at least now.
We will see.
