Your opinions on my wife's suggestion

It is quite likely I will be able to begin working out again on November 1st, for which I am glad. I have planned on using my own course of resistance exercises I constructed for myself. I have a photograph of myself, (a simple Polaroid), taken of myself after completing the Atlas course, as given, in 1991. I was in my late 30's at the time. My wife made the suggestion that I once again take the Atlas course as given, and compare myself (I will be 66 at the time I complete the course), and compare myself now to when I was in my late 30's. Should I take my own course or go with my wife's suggestion of once again taking the Atlas course as given, and compare the two eras of myself having taken the exact same course? I would like your opinions on this.

I would do that! Your wife, like all wives, is full of great information.

It's not often your wife is wrong, but she is right again!

Thank you Ian. I will go with her plan. I am anxious to work out again but I will have to wait another 15 days.

Either way you go is good. My thing about the original course is the working out 2 times a day. At 66 you will probably be over training with that. It also eats up a lot of time. One workout session a day is enough.

The closing date for selling my parents house is October 22nd. If that happens I will get some time freed up and that will help a lot. I like the idea of a 66 year old me competing against a younger version of myself using the same course. If I fail I will go to the resistance course I tailored for myself.

My hands and fingers are in such condition that I can hardly hold a pencil to write and trying to control any kind of barbell or dumbell is out of the question. Thankfully we have the resistance exercises.

Re: Your opinions on my wife's suggestion

The lender of the person wanting to buy my moms house has asked for a three week extension. We countered by saying in three days we will start showing the house again. This is a pain but will not have any effect on my working out again on November 1st. Just another nuisance to deal with.
