Re: NFL Player Protest
The ratings for the NFL and the Emmy Awards were a feel good story for me. I hope they both tank!

Call it what they want, but in a capitalist country, consumers often vote with their wallet:

Re: NFL Player Protest
This appears to be the generation of players and management that will have taken down the NFL. The league needs to be put out of its misery. Back in the day I knew just about every player on all of the NFL and AFL rosters. Today, I scarcely know the names of 15 players in the entire league. A colossal waste of time watching the creatures.

Re: NFL Player Protest
Yesterday Rush said a player in one of the games seemed to make a black power salute like the ones given by the black athletes at the Olympics in the 60's. If that is the case and others start doing it you can look forward to a bigger drop in attendance and viewing.
To show the impact this behavior has, there was picture the other day on fb of a team of 8 year olds taking a knee during the anthem. Who put that in their heads? Parents? Coaches? NFL players? It's really disgusting what's going on.

Re: NFL Player Protest
Bob, a 50 year effort of revisionist history has taken place.
Here is the historical voting record of both political parties.
The 13th Amendment to Abolish Slavery..........
_________________Support______________Aagainst
Democrats________ 23%_________________77%
Republicans_______ 100%_________________0%
The 14th Amendment To Give Citizenship To Freed Blacks
_________________Support_____________Against
Democrats________ 0%________________100%
Republicans________94%________________6%
15th Amendment-Right To Vote For All Citizens
_________________Support_____________Against
Democrats_________0%________________100%
Republicans________100%________________0%
In 1865-1866 Democrat controlled southern states put in place Black Code/Jim Crow Laws that were on the books until the 1964 Civil Rights Act.
The Civil Rights Act of 1866 was vetoed by Democrat President Andrew Johnson.
The strongest opposition to the 1964 Civil Rights Act were Democrats, Sam Ervin, Al Gore Sr, and Robert Byrd.
The 1964 Civil Rights Vote went as follows______________
____________________Support___________Support____
____________________House of Rep._______Senate
Democrats____________63%______________69%
Republicans___________80%______________82%
1965 Voting Rights Act
House of Rep.________Support
Democrats__________78%
Republicans_________82%
Senate_____________Support
Democrats__________73%
Republicans_________94%
The 1957 Civil Rights Act was opposed by future President John F. Kennedy.
The KKK was originated by the Democrats. On April 20, 1871, Republicans passed the anti Ku Klux Klan Act outlawing the Democratic terrorist group.
September 28, 1868
Opelousa, Louisiana
A mob of Democrats massacred 200 to 300 African American Republicans. They followed by going on a negro hunt killing all they could find. Democrats in hoods slaughtered hundreds of Republicans and Blacks across the county.
For the past 50 years revisionists have been changing history or covering up the horrible civil rights history of the Democrats. The people that have done this should be reviled and loathed by all. Anyway, above is some of the "proud" moments of the Democrat Party and their sordid past.

Re: NFL Player Protest
Perhaps a group of people will get together and form a new Football League to replace whatever the NFL is now.

Re: NFL Player Protest
Before the Superbowl was created and it's rise in popularity college ball was the thing. Pro football was seen as blue collar. I watched 2 Penn State games this year and enjoyed them both. Especially the one against Iowa.
