Re: The Genuine Article And an Amazing Transformation

The lady that was responsible for this thread is certainly an inspirational person in my life. The same applies to the members of this forum. Each of you have had obstacles to overcome and you have done just that! I have learned a good deal from each one of you about Physical Culture as well as about life itself. All of you have my gratitude for that. In the way of working out do any of you have something special that motivates you? Are you challenged by something or have certain quirks you use to motivate you? My wife has made improvement as of late which I am very grateful for. In so much as I will once again begin in earnest the Atlas-MacFadden resistance exercises. I have what most people would consider a nonsensical approach to exercise that motivates me. I try to pit myself against the Golden Age guys by comparison. I do not use supplements as they did not have them. By challenging myself to compete against those guys it has always motivated me to a higher level than I would have normally obtained. I have been near exhaustion trying to take care of everything at home, taking care of my mom's home, and of course taking care of my wife. I have been pulled in every direction possible. My sister and I have just began to try and get my mom's house ready to sell. This is time consuming as she had so many things to have to wade through. My lawn mowing chores are also very heavy. I began the Atlas-Macfadden resistance Modified courses today and in 90 days (if I can get through uninterrupted), I hope to prove that resistance exercises without apparatus, (along with a physical culture lifestyle), can transform a person in their middle 60's age wise. I have even more motivation as recently a barbell guy scoffed at me for wasting time on resistance exercises. He is 30 years younger than I am and I surely want to prove him wrong. 90 days will be up on the 18th of August.

Re: The Genuine Article And an Amazing Transformation

Speaking of supplements the old timers ate wheat germ, and then bee pollen and brewer's yeast came along. I think desiccated beef liver came along in the 1960's. Everything was 100% natural. Not like today. When I was working out with weights in high school even at that time, '66-'69, wheat germ, and brewer's yeast were the thing. I found out about desiccated liver and bee pollen later.

I take some of those as well. I do not take anything in the way of bodybuilding supplements. I like all of the products you mentioned.

Re: The Genuine Article And an Amazing Transformation

all of the products rpr mentioned are legitimate food products, so in my mind they don't count as supplements. our friend marlon birch has me writing a book on resistance training. i'm finding that to be motivating. i'm also finding the book hard to write, as I don't intend for it to be a rewrite of somebody else's courses or books. but it's inspiring me.
